About

I like knowing about things, and sometimes I take pictures of the things and try to learn more about them!

At the moment I’m back at home, looking for work, taking photos, writing, and playing with my dogs. Posts will continue to go up over the next few months from my recent trip to Antarctica- biologically, geologically, socially thrilling! My toes have indeed defrosted, but that just makes me eager to go back.

Further back in this blog you can find posts about Cambodia and Vietnam, Exmouth (Australia) where I worked as a dolphin research assistant, Little Cayman Island, Costa Rica, and San Juan Island, all places where I have done research/had adventures. Hopefully there will be plenty more to come!

I love comments and questions- please feel free to reply to blog posts or email me if you ever have something to say!

Yours in science and adventure and other stuff that kids like me are interested in,

Hi, I’m very interested in studying marine biology in university and plan to apply for Australian universities if I dont get into HKU. What universities would you recommend? Which university is the most renown for this subject in Australia? I’ve been thinking of ANU or University of Melbourne, however I’ve heard good things from James Cook university.

    • Hi Jeffery, I’m not really an expert on Australian universities- I went to school in the US, and haven’t spent a lot of time with the different unis in other countries. If you’ve got the chance, I recommend looking for professors that you really want to work with, labs that do research that is interesting to you, and places that will allow you to get a significant amount of research experience as an undergrad. Other than that, I wish you good luck in your applications!
